The Virgin Mobile has announced that it will cut the price charge on its unlimited prepaid plan call rate from $80 to $50, slashing off over 37%.
This recent development from Virgin Mobile may not be unconnected to the intense price-cutting among second-tier wireless operators. Just recently, MetroPCS and Leap Wireless providing unlimited prepaid service for $35 to $50 a month in limited areas. Similarly, Sprint introduced a $50 unlimited plan under its own prepaid brand, Boost Mobile in January. This competition is viewed has a healthy one, because it gives users more options to pay less and talk more.
Virgin Mobile based in Warren, N.J. is the world’s first Mobile Virtual Network Operator and it uses Sprint’s network to offer service. The company has recently renegotiated its rates with Sprint, allowing it to lower prices and thereby offers its users more time to talk. With this new plan, customers on the monthly $80 have been advised to contact the company in order to switch over to the $50 plan. The new plan will become available on April 15.
In another development, The company has introduced plans that include text messages but no monthly minutes. One plan offers 1,000 messages for $15 per month, another offers unlimited messages for $20 per month. Voice calls cost an extra 10 cents per minute. It is indeed as the company said, Virgin Mobile phone shop offers you great rates and calls, texts and saving you money.
