T-Mobile Plans to Launch Dash 3G Smartphone in July

T-Mobile announced that it will make its Dash 3G Smartphone available on July 1, with availability set for July 15. The T-Mobile Dash 3G is much-anticipated high-speed follow-up to the T-Mobile Dash, which sports a full QWERTY keyboard and non-touchscreen display.
It measures 2.5 x 4.4 x .5 inches and weighs 4.2 ounces. It runs over the older GPRS/EDGE network from T-Mobile. According to the company, the Dash 3G was designed by Taiwan-based HTC. It is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and features a 2 megapixel camera with video capture.
The phone, reportedly, will support T-Mobile’s high-speed 3G network and also feature a built-in GPS receiver. A microSD card slot is also rumored to be on board, as well as Bluetooth with A2DP support for stereo headsets.
The Dash 3G will run on T-Mobile’s faster 3G network, making it easier for customers to reach content-heavy sites such as YouTube. T-Mobile says the faster 3G network will support Web browsing speeds of 200Kbit/sec. to 1 Mbit/sec.
T-Mobile claims to meet the demands of a feature rich phone. The new T-Mobile Dash is expected to 3G nationwide in July of the company retail stores and via the company’s website.
