T-Mobile Confirms Customers Data was Compromised
Contrary to the early reports which stated that hackers have penetrated the T-Mobile U.S. network and stolen proprietary operating data, customer databases and financial records T-Mobile confirmed today that confidential internal information obtained by hackers was stolen from T-Mobile’s servers, but said that it doesn’t appear that customer data had been breached.
According to the information made available to CIO.com by the company,”Regarding the recent claim on a Web site, we’ve identified the document from which information was copied and believe possession
of this alone is not enough to cause harm to our customers.” There are no details as to how the hackers achieved the breach, but they did post code to show that they did penetrate the T-Mobile network.
However, there is no mention of a security breach or incident on T-Mobile’s Web site probably because the company is still investigating the situation, but it stated that it will contact customers if their data has been compromised.
