Samsung are not wasting a minute as they stride towards the end of 2008, and their latest additions to the product range are a sure fire sign regarding their intentions. The latest addition to the family is the Samsung M8800 (Samsung Bresson / Samsung Pixon).
The Samsung M8800 has a 3.2-inch 16-million color touchscreen display and full touchscreen cameraphone with a built-in GPS receiver. The 8 megapixel autofocus camera can take photos with a resolution of 3264×2448 pixels. It can capture high resolution video at 30 frames per second and it has auto-panarama, image stalisation, smile detection and blink detection. There’s also a secondary video call camera. It also comes with a light body of just 15.5mm thickness.
The Samsung Pixon is a 3G phone with HSDPA support. It has a GPS receiver for geotagging photos but unfortunately there is no Wi-Fi. The 3.2 inch touchscreen uses Samsung’s TouchWiz interface, sensitivity is good and the screen provides haptic feedback.
The SIM Free Pixon phone is unlocked to all UK networks allowing customers to use their own SIM card and keep their existing mobile number, account details and any saved contacts, this is ideal for anyone who may have lost or had their phone stolen aswell as those still within their minimum term contract period.
It also means that the Samsung Pixon can now be purchased as a present for others as there is no need to register the phone with any of the network operators.
It is priced around £400 and now available.
