Overview of the Palm Pre Phone

The Palm Pre is a new smartphone that is always thinking ahead to make your life easier. It comes with many features and functionality that can be found in a typical iPhone. It has an adaptable, easy-to-use
touch-screen interface although less intuitive than most iPhone nevertheless it adds a number of refinements and features the iPhone, at least for now, sorely lacks, such as the ability to run multiple
applications at one time, a built-in flash for its camera and a universal search.
Stubbier than the iPhone, the Pre has a 3.1in touch-screen with many of the same capacitive interface features as Appleās multi-touch device. It also has a small, slide-out Qwerty keyboard, which is compact but effective, yet perhaps not quite as easy to type on as a BlackBerry and BlackBerry fans might gripe about.
The Pre features a great innovation called Synergy, which combines data from multiple sources. The most interesting use of this feature is in the Pre’s address book. You can link your Pre to contacts stored
in your company’s Exchange server, your friend list in Facebook and addresses stored on a Google account. If you have a friend whose contact information is stored in more than one of those sources, Synergy will automatically combine that data into one listing.
Overall, the Pre is an accomplished smartphone, with an intuitive interface, an excellent operating system, and plenty of bells and whistles to recommend it as a possible iPhone alternative to consumers. It is available for a price tag of $200 starting from this month.
