Motorola Unveils its new Endeavor HX1 Headset

written by admin

Motorola has announced a new Bluetooth headset called the Endeavor HX1 that promises to allow the user to talk and be heard in even the most extreme environment. This device comes with stealth mode and uses bone conduction technology to eliminate background noise and amplify the user’s voice.

Motorola uses its CrystalTalk noise cancellation technology in the headset along with a stealth mode that activates bone conduction technology. The bone conduction tech picks up your voice by sensing the vibrations in your bones rather than using a mic. It measures 47mm x 18mm x 12mm (1.9in x 0.7in x .5in) and only weighs 13g (.5oz). Motorola claims to be leveraging military-style technology for the Endeavor HX1: when the unit’s “stealth mode” is activated, the unit uses an ear sensor to block off outside noise and
convert vocal vibrations directly into speech audio. The result—in theory anyway—is that listeners only hear the caller’s voice, not what’s going on around them. The Endeavor HX1 also includes Motorola’s CrystalTalk noise cancellation technology to deal with everyday noise when the unit’s stealth mode is overkill.

Motorola plans to market the HX1 in Asia beginning next month. No word yet on pricing, or when/if Motorola plans to bring the unit to North
American markets.
